페이스북은 2015년 2분기 기준, 전 세계 14억 9천만 명 이상의 월 활동 사용자가 활동 중인 세계 최대의 소셜 네트워크 서비스중 하나

Facebook Detox 과 같은 페이스북 비평가들은 페이스북이 나르시즘을 조장하고, 시간을 뺏는다는 이유로 강박상태에 있게 한다고 언급했다. 또한 페이스북은 사용자의 프라이버시를 고려하지 않는다는 비판을 받았다. 이에 대해 미국 연방무역위원회(FTC)가 조사를 진행하였으며, 페이스북이 프라이버시에 대한 약속을 지키지 않은 사례를 찾아내었다. 그 결과 FTC와 페이스북은 20년간 외부 기관의 정기적인 감사 등의 내용을 포함한 합의안에 합의하였다. 직원들이 페이스북에 시간을 낭비하는 것을 막기 위해, 사내 페이스북 접속을 차단하기도 한다.

페이스북의 역사가 그리 길지 않은 것이다보니, 한국 페이스북도 마찬가지기에 (몇 년 전 기준으로) 아직은 업무에 있어 야아아악간의 문제는 있다고 합니다.. 물론 하는 일은 외국계 기업답게 자유롭고~ 한데.. 어쨌든 아직 8년차, 거의 신생 기업답게 해야 할 일이 많다 등등의 아아아아아아주 작은 단점이 있다고 하네요

일반적인 채용과정은 이것입니다. 서류 -> 1차 실무진 면접 -> 2차 임원 면접 -> 채용 검진

헌데 한국 페이스북의 경우 약간 슬픈 소식을 찾았..습니다 ㅠ; http://www.jobkorea.co.kr/Recruit/Co_Read/C/fbapac 이곳에 들어가보니 최근 3년간 진행된 채용 28건 중 단 한 건만이 신입/경력직을 원했고 나머지 27건은 모두 경력직을 원했습니다.. (대부분의 외국계 기업은 경력직을 선호합니다. 물론 그들이 제공하는 수준높은 서비스나 근무환경 돈 등을 보면 일하는 사람도 그정도의 급..? 이 되어야 하는건 맞겠죠.. 하지만 슬픈..건 어쩔 수 없..는...ㅠ)

facebook 채용 및 지원

페이스북 하단에서 '채용 정보'를 클릭하면 나타나는 화면입니다. 

전에 IBM에서 썼던 게시글처럼 직업을 직접 검색할 수 있는데요, 나라를 설정할 수 있는데.. 나라라기 보다는 페이스북 회사가 위치한 도시를 고를 수 있습니다.

서울로 해서, (직업 이름을 정확히 모르니까..) 아무것도 입력하지 않고 검색해보니 전체 결과가 나옵니다. 한국 지사의 경우 대부분이 마케팅 분야입니다.

클릭하여 들어가보면 최하단의 Apply 버튼으로 지원할 수 있네요 (위 캡쳐는 Forest city라는 이름이 멋진 도시로 검색하여 보던 중 찍은 것입니다. 제가 보던 IT 관련된, 정확히는 Infrastructure 쪽의 직업에서는 정확하게 무엇을 요구하는지 아래에서 확인해 보도록 하겠습니다)

Facebook is seeking an experienced Data Center Technician to join the Site Operations Team. This position is full-time and will be based in Forest City, NC.

Responsibilities  //이러한 일들을 하게(해야만..) 될 것이라고 합니다

Responsible for assisting with all projects and repairs throughout the Data Center

Work in teams to deploy new data center infrastructure.

Understand and troubleshoot network, hardware, and Linux OS related issues

Perform server upgrades, integration, rebuild and other projects as required

Identify and help create documentation for the global DC knowledge base

Track issues and analyze data looking for trends and systemic issues

Be forward thinking to support all DC teams on to reduce potential risks to upcoming projects.

Help identify specifications for tools that facilitate deployment and decommissioning of server hardware at scale

Assist with process improvements and inform best practices in data center operations

Display understanding of organizational structure and capability to work with cross functional teams on a given project.

Participate in an on-call rotation.

Minimum Qualifications  //필요한 최소한의 자격!!!

BS or BA in technical field or commensurate experience.

4+ years of technical experience  //4년 이상의 경력ㅎ

Experience with Linux and hardware systems support in an Internet operations environment

Certification such as CCNA, RHCE or equivalent experience.  //자격증 또는 이정도 급의 경험

Preferred Qualifications  //선호되는 자격들

Familiarity with Python, SQL and/or shell scripting knowledge

Time and project management skills.

Experience managing multiple projects within the same time schedule.

Understanding of enterprise level networking and storage equipment installs.

Experience in large-scale data center environment

Understanding of out-of-band/lights-out server communication methods, such as IPMI and serial console.

Able to lift/move 20-30 lbs equipment on a daily basis.

Team or project leadership

Knowledgeable in Data center practices and concepts (i.e. fault tolerance, calculating power usage)
